MOMI VISIT

The visit at the Museum of the Moving Image, was very interesting. However I feel that the amount of people made the tour a bit difficult and my group didn't get to see much.
The tour guide was very knowledgable and could explain pretty much anything we wanted to know, we saw old video cameras and the first TV sets as well as very interesting movie props from Star Wars, Freddy Krueger, The Exorcist, Blade Runner, the Mask and so forth. He also showed us some costumes from famous TV series and movies as well as portraits of the first movie stars. But the tour guide spend most of the time explaining and talking about sound effects and how important they are for a movie. We saw examples from Titanic, the many layers of sound in a professional movie and how keen they are to create mood, space, and enhance the movie experience. It was very interesting that Titanic sinking had used animal sounds, and it is curious how we wouldn't notice that unless we were told. It is an amazing process!
We ended our tour inside the Egyptian movie theater, in which he talked about the beginning of screening movies and how the Egyptian people build their own theaters.
I wish we had also seen the foley part, I love the creative process of film and foley is amazing as well as incredible hard. But again the tour felt rushed and we couldn't see much, since there were so many people around that day. I will definitely  visit  the Museum of the Moving Image again and try to see as much as possible.
